About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Leisure and Lifestyle Assistant to join our team at Monash Health. This remote Leisure and Lifestyle Assistant position offers a unique opportunity to enhance the lives of residents through meaningful engagement and activities. You will play a vital role in promoting the emotional, spiritual, and psychological well-being of our residents.

What You'll Do

  • Plan and deliver individual and group activities that reflect residents’ interests, preferences, and goals.
  • Work collaboratively with residents, families, care staff, and volunteers to enhance resident satisfaction and well-being.
  • Contribute to personalized well-being care plans and ensure timely documentation and evaluation.
  • Support the coordination and delivery of monthly activity calendars, special events, and community outings.
  • Provide emotional, social, and spiritual support, especially during end-of-life care.
  • Maintain safe, inclusive, and welcoming activity environments.
  • Uphold Monash Health iCARE values and adhere to infection control, OHS, and Aged Care Standards.

Requirements

  • Valid NDIS Clearance and completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module (essential).
  • Valid police check clearance including a renewal every 3 years (essential).
  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Health (CHC43415) or equivalent qualification (essential).
  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence (essential).
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and follow direction as needed.
  • Strong commitment to providing resident-centred care.
  • Effective time management skills to meet key outcomes.
  • Well-developed verbal, written, and computer communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a similar role within aged care or healthcare settings.
  • Knowledge of best practices in leisure and lifestyle programming.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
