This role is crucial for providing guidance to a first-time fund manager in Africa, focusing on investment fund negotiations and governance structuring. As a Legal Advisory Expert, you will play a key role in enhancing the investment ecosystem in emerging markets.

What You'll Do

• Provide expert legal guidance on investment fund management and governance.
• Assist with term sheet review and negotiation strategies.
• Support policy development and governance structuring for investment funds.
• Deliver practical fund-facing advisory services to the fund manager.
• Utilize your significant experience with private equity and venture capital funds.
• Engage in negotiations with investors and support fund managers effectively.
• Work independently under tight timelines to meet project deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure clarity in governance frameworks.

Requirements

• Significant experience with private equity and venture capital funds is required.
• Experience supporting fund managers through investor negotiations is essential.
• LP-side experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with fund term sheets and governance frameworks is necessary.
• A law degree (LLB or equivalent) is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach are essential.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
