About the Role

Join our thriving Department of Chemistry as a Lecturer in Digital Chemistry. This is an exciting opportunity to develop an internationally leading independent research programme in the broad area of digital chemistry. As a Lecturer in Digital Chemistry remote position, you will teach aspects of applied digital chemistry in both lectures and computational classes, contributing to our PGT course on Drug Discovery in collaboration with the Department of Life Sciences. You will maintain the University’s high standards in teaching and learning, while fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and lead innovative research projects in digital chemistry, integrating AI/ML into chemistry.
  • Teach applied digital chemistry across various courses, including specialized units for final-year students.
  • Contribute to administrative, leadership, and management activities within the Department.
  • Engage with existing research to enhance departmental collaboration and innovation.
  • Prepare research and teaching statements as part of the application process.

Requirements

  • A PhD in a relevant field is required.
  • Demonstrated potential to develop an internationally leading research programme.
  • Ability to secure significant funding from UK and international sources.
  • Experience in producing high-quality publications in digital chemistry.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive working environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with automation and robotics in chemical discovery.
  • Familiarity with data-centric approaches and big data applications in chemistry.
  • Previous teaching experience at the university level.
