Lead Platform Engineer - Remote Opportunity at ReflexAI

About the Role

We are looking for a Lead Platform Engineer to join ReflexAI's innovative team. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our platform engineering function. As a Lead Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting and managing our multicloud infrastructure across GCP and AWS, while also expanding our CI/CD processes and enhancing our security posture.

What You’ll Do

• Own and evolve ReflexAI’s core infrastructure by leading the design, automation, and maintenance of our multicloud environment.
• Drive the adoption of infrastructure-as-code practices, ensuring reliability and cost efficiency.
• Create scalable foundations for data pipelines and application services.
• Establish and own the CI/CD strategy, enhancing the developer experience for all engineers.
• Define observability and monitoring standards using tools like Datadog to improve operational efficiency.
• Implement best practices for security, including secrets management and vulnerability scanning.
• Set the roadmap and long-term vision for the platform engineering function, mentoring future engineers as the team grows.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and security teams to influence architectural decisions.

Requirements

• 8-10+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering roles.
• Deep expertise with cloud platforms (GCP and/or AWS) and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
• Strong experience in building CI/CD pipelines for modern application stacks.
• Proficiency in observability tools, especially Datadog.
• Solid understanding of cloud security practices and network architecture.
• Ability to lead technical initiatives and influence best practices across teams.
• Comfortable being the first hire on a new team, capable of switching between architect and implementer roles.

Nice to Have

• Experience in a fast-growing startup environment.
• Backend coding experience, particularly with Typescript.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks like SOC 2 or HIPAA.
• Prior experience building internal developer platforms.
