About the Role

We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for a Remote Intern in the Office of the Secretary at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. This internship is designed for students who are eager to gain hands-on experience in supporting the governance and executive functions of one of the nation’s largest and most complex transportation agencies.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with the implementation of departmental process improvements, including the redesign of agencywide OSEC SharePoint.
  • Support planning and implementation for all board meeting tasks.
  • Participate in all aspects of budget preparation and submission, including budget entry and participation in meetings with our Management and Budget Department.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses as required.
  • Engage in additional projects and tasks as assigned to contribute to the overall efficiency of the Office of the Secretary.

Requirements

  • Enrollment at a college or university at the time of the internship.
  • Major in Computer Science, Political Science, Finance, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Public Administration, Public Policy, or a related discipline.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Interest in public administration, policy, business operations, or government.

Nice to Have

  • Previous internship experience in a public sector or governmental environment.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint or similar project management tools.
  • Basic understanding of budgeting and financial analysis.
