Inpatient Coder - Remote Position at Sage Clinical RCM

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Inpatient Coder to join our team at Sage Clinical RCM. This Inpatient Coder remote position offers a unique opportunity to work with a leading healthcare revenue cycle management company, specializing in professional billing and auditing services for hospital-based physician practices. As an Inpatient Coder, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate coding and compliance, contributing to the overall success of our healthcare partners.

What You'll Do

• Review documentation and code records to determine the appropriate designation of diagnosis, procedure, and codes while maintaining compliance with coding guidelines.
• Analyze, evaluate, and review client medical records to ensure accuracy of code assignment.
• Prepare daily coding logs and demonstrate proficiency in coding, including ICD-10, while maintaining 95% MS-DRG / APR-DRG accuracy.
• Follow and adhere to AHIMA’s Standards of Ethical Coding.
• Maintain productivity and quality based on national standards.
• Engage in professional monthly educational standards to stay updated in the field.
• Perform other duties as assigned based on company needs.

Requirements

• Active RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification in good standing with AHIMA.
• Minimum of 2 years of hospital-based inpatient coding experience.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient knowledge of computers and systems.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and EHRs.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• High attention to detail with accuracy in repetitive activities.

Nice to Have

• Experience with additional coding systems and software.
