Head of Payments - Remote Opportunity at Vio

About the Role

We are seeking a Head of Payments to join our innovative team at Vio. This remote opportunity allows you to lead our payments strategy and operations, ensuring we deliver seamless payment experiences for our users. As the Head of Payments, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our payment systems as we scale towards €1B+ in volume.

What You'll Do

• Define the payments strategy and build the 2026–2027 payments roadmap aligned with the company’s expansion plans.
• Design and manage a portfolio approach, including market prioritization and local acquiring expansion in priority growth markets.
• Own commercials end-to-end: pricing negotiation across processing, FX, disputes/refunds, settlement currencies, and SLAs.
• Establish and run a regular payments performance cadence (dashboards, issues, experiments, outcomes).
• Implement stronger and scalable Merchant of Record (MOR) operations, including disputes/refunds workflows and reconciliation/settlement automation.

Requirements

• 10+ years in payments, ideally in travel, marketplace, fintech, or similar environments.
• Proven experience designing and scaling multi-PSP / multi-acquirer setups and improving authorization performance.
• Strong commercial negotiation track record across processing fees, FX, and SLAs.
• Comfortable partnering with engineering on architecture: APIs, orchestration concepts, and reporting models.
• Excellent communicator who can influence senior leadership in a fast-moving environment.
