Global Head of Middle Office - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Global Head of Middle Office to join our team at Kraken. This remote position offers the opportunity to lead Kraken's institutional trading and lending operations while overseeing post-trade processes across settlement, reconciliation, and inventory management. As a leader in this role, you will work closely with various teams to ensure seamless operational execution and scalable infrastructure.

What You'll Do

• Lead and scale Kraken’s Institutional Middle Office, owning the design and optimization of middle-office processes supporting Kraken Prime, OTC, and lending activities.
• Manage a global team responsible for trade capture, settlement, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and control frameworks to ensure operational integrity.
• Oversee digital asset and fiat inventory management across counterparties, venues, and wallets.
• Collaborate with front-office, finance, and technology teams to enhance systems and automate workflows.
• Build an operational environment that meets the expectations of top-tier institutional counterparties.
• Drive continuous improvement and risk awareness across the middle-office function.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in middle office, trading operations, or settlements within a trading firm or financial institution.
• Deep understanding of trade lifecycle management, settlement flows, and reconciliations.
• Proven ability to design and scale operational processes in fast-paced environments.
• Strong grasp of counterparty settlement processes and reconciliation tools across digital assets.
• Experience managing digital asset inventories across multiple venues and custodians.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with OTC crypto trading desks or custody platforms.
• Familiarity with digital asset custody and blockchain settlement.
• Understanding of post-trade automation technologies.
