About the Role

Join Tutors Green as a Functional Skills Maths Tutor with SEN experience. In this part-time role, you will make a real impact in the lives of students with special educational needs (SEN). You will provide personalized, one-on-one support in Functional Skills Maths Level 1, helping students build confidence and essential skills. This position is based in Hackney, London, and offers a unique opportunity to work closely with students in a supportive environment.

What You'll Do

• Provide tailored 1:1 tuition in Functional Skills Maths Level 1 to meet individual learning needs.
• Plan engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
• Assess barriers to learning and create a positive, supportive learning atmosphere.
• Monitor student progress, produce reports, and adjust teaching strategies to achieve measurable outcomes.
• Stay updated on curriculum content and qualification frameworks relevant to the subjects you teach.
• Regularly report updates to the Tuition Programmes Manager.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree.
• 1+ years of tutoring or teaching experience.
• Ability to adapt lessons for different learning styles and needs.
• Experience working with students with speech, language, and communication needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Right to be self-employed in the UK.
