About the Role

We are seeking a Founding Engineer to join our innovative team, where you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of restaurant technology. This Founding Engineer remote position is perfect for those who want their code to have a real-world impact, as you will be building the core product that powers over 400 independent restaurants.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with a small, dynamic team to develop the operating system for the restaurants of the future.
• Automate legacy systems and significantly reduce manual labor within the industry.
• Utilize your expertise in Typescript to create efficient front-end and back-end solutions.
• Implement software design patterns to enhance the backend architecture.
• Manage live production workloads in the cloud, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Design relational databases, write complex queries, and implement changes without downtime.
• Leverage the latest AI and computer vision technologies to transform restaurant workflows.
• Deliver high-quality software solutions within tight deadlines.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in software development with a focus on production-level software.
• Deep understanding of Typescript and its application in both front-end and back-end development.
• Proficiency in software design patterns and backend architecture.
• Experience with cloud providers and managing production workloads.
• Strong skills in relational databases, including schema design and query optimization.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and share best practices with the team.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI and computer vision technologies.
• Previous work in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
