Entry-Level GNC Engineer - Spacecraft Development

About the Role

Join The Exploration Company as an Entry-Level GNC Engineer to contribute to the development of Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in spacecraft development and operations, focusing on GNC subsystem design and implementation.

What You'll Do

• Participate in the design and implementation of the AOCS/GNC subsystem for various spacecraft missions, including LEO operations and rendezvous.
• Design, synthesize, test, and validate GNC algorithms, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Implement GNC code into the Flight Software, enhancing spacecraft functionality.
• Develop high-fidelity 6 degrees of freedom models and simulations to analyze system performance.
• Perform design optimization and multi-disciplinary spacecraft systems trades to improve performance.
• Develop software automation tools for GNC design, analysis, testing, and reporting.
• Validate and verify GNC software through algorithm unit testing and Monte Carlo analysis.
• Report test results with a focus on efficiency and documentation automation.

Requirements

• MSc. in Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of classical dynamics, orbital mechanics, and control techniques.
• Experience in flight physics simulation and software development in C++, Python, and MATLAB/Simulink.
• Passion for advancing the commercial space industry.
• Highly motivated to work in a fast-paced, autonomous start-up environment.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in German or French is a plus.

• Higher degree in a relevant field.
• Experience with spacecraft GNC concepts and applications.
• Familiarity with software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
