Engineering Team Leader - Donor Experience Platform

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Team Leader to join our Donor Experience Platform team. This Engineering Team Leader role is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere while leading a talented group of developers. As an Engineering Team Leader, you will oversee the development of a technical platform that powers our key products for processing online donations.

What You’ll Do

• Lead a team of 5-8 Fullstack developers, ensuring effective collaboration and productivity.
• Write and review code, balancing management responsibilities with hands-on development (approximately 70/30 split).
• Ensure adherence to company processes and engineering guidelines.
• Own the delivery of features and manage deadlines effectively.
• Make technical decisions and prepare designs for new features, aligning with neighboring teams and your manager.
• Manage technical debt and maintain the technical backlog for your team.
• Mentor and develop engineers through regular 1:1 meetings and performance reviews.
• Onboard new team members to ensure a smooth integration into the team.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience, with at least 2 years as a Team Lead or Engineering Manager.
• Hands-on leader with the ability to write code and make sound technical decisions.
• Strong people management skills, including hiring, coaching, and conflict resolution.
• 5+ years of experience as a Fullstack Developer, familiar with our tech stack: TypeScript, Node.js, MongoDB, Kafka, Redis.
• Experience in fast-growing companies or startups is a plus.
• English proficiency at B2+ level, capable of discussing technical topics confidently.
