EHS Manager - Remote Opportunity with Relocation Support
About the Role
Our well-established client is hiring an EHS Manager remote. This role will be based in the Bolivar, OH area, but offers relocation support. You will be leading the health and safety programs, supporting environmental compliance with air, hazardous waste, and water while championing a strong safety culture in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate would have 5 plus years in chemical, pulp & paper, plastics, or a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. This is a boots-on-the-ground role for a passionate EHS professional who thrives working across all levels of the organization to make an impact and drive continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
- Manage and deliver EH&S training for the organization.
- Conduct performance reviews of statistical EH&S data trends to determine risk reduction and avoidance initiatives.
- Interact frequently with Health, Safety and Security Supervisor; Environmental Coordinator; Process Safety Manager; Operations Management; Maintenance Management; Engineering and hourly production and maintenance employees.
- Engage with regulatory agencies, emergency response personnel, and legal counsel as needed.
- Participate in labor-management meetings on occasion.
Requirements
- B.S. degree in occupational health, safety science, safety engineering, or a related science or technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety programs.
- Working knowledge of Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security regulations.
- Health and Safety experience within a chemical manufacturing environment or petrochemical industry preferred.
- Certified Safety Professional and/or Certified Industrial Hygienist preferred.
Nice to Have
- Experience interfacing with regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA).
- Experience working in a union environment.
- Proven skills in strategic thinking and influencing management.
