Director of Renewals - Remote EMEA

About the Role

We are seeking a Director of Renewals - Remote EMEA to join our dynamic team at GitLab. In this pivotal role, you will help us retain and grow customer relationships across the EMEA region through strategic planning and execution. As a leader in our renewals strategy, you will work closely with various internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and business success.

What You'll Do

• Lead customer retention initiatives across EMEA by managing the renewals process with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Develop and communicate a comprehensive regional renewals strategy to prioritize team efforts and support business outcomes.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, channel partners, Revenue Operations, and Legal to drive the renewals process effectively.
• Hire, coach, and support a high-performing renewals team, emphasizing accountability and development.
• Continuously improve renewals processes and policies to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Identify renewal risks and expansion opportunities while maintaining visibility into the renewals forecast.
• Drive improvements in systems and data quality to support effective renewals execution.
• Negotiate renewal agreements in alignment with customer goals and internal policies.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading renewals or customer-facing functions in a SaaS or subscription business.
• Demonstrated ability to meet revenue-related goals in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in developing and leading teams with a focus on performance management.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with Sales and Customer Success teams.
• Data-informed decision-making skills and experience in process improvements.
• Understanding of direct and channel go-to-market motions affecting the renewals lifecycle.
• A values-aligned leadership style that promotes collaboration and accountability.
• Familiarity with GitLab's tools and processes is a plus.
