DevOps Engineering Lead - Remote Opportunity at Aztec

As a DevOps Engineering Lead, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing our development processes and ensuring the security and efficiency of our systems. What You'll Do

• Own the internal platforms critical to our ability to develop, test, deploy, and monitor our code.
• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and automation to minimize lead time across the stack.
• Develop and enforce best practices for observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident response to minimize Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR).
• Architect and implement scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure on platforms such as GCP and AWS.
• Lead technical design discussions, post-mortems, and architecture reviews related to our systems.
• Identify and proactively address performance bottlenecks, cost inefficiencies, and system vulnerabilities.
• Maintain composure during on-call situations and effectively troubleshoot issues.
• Contribute to other essential engineering tasks that seasoned engineers undertake.

Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant industry experience in a DevOps role.
• Strong expertise in cloud platforms, bare metal, and distributed systems.
• Proven experience in building, scaling, and maintaining production infrastructure.
• Hands-on proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with observability stacks such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Strong background in automation, scripting, and tooling (e.g., Bash).
• Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex system issues.
• Self-starter mindset with the ability to balance technical depth, team leadership, and strategic impact.
• Experience in Web3 or high-growth startups is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working autonomously and asynchronously within a distributed team.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Typescript and C++.
• Experience with LMDB for persistence.
• Knowledge of Discv5 and libp2p.
• Understanding of Ethereum as a Layer 1 solution.
