Deputy Head of Back Office - FinTech Transformation

About the Role

We are seeking a Deputy Head of Back Office to join our team at iBanFirst, a fast-growing European fintech company revolutionizing international payments for SMEs. This Deputy Head of Back Office remote position will play a crucial role in scaling our operations across Europe, working closely with various departments to enhance our payment infrastructure.

What You'll Do

• Act as Marc's strategic right hand, providing leadership and structure to the Back Office function.
• Oversee daily operations and critical tasks, ensuring smooth production and incident resolution.
• Drive transformation initiatives, focusing on process redesign and automation.
• Lead strategic projects from inception to delivery, collaborating with Product and Technology teams.
• Enhance the control framework across payment and FX operations, ensuring compliance and operational excellence.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of experience in financial operations or management consulting, particularly in payments or fintech.
• Proven track record of leading complex projects and driving operational transformation.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in AI tools, automation, and data analytics.
• Excellent project management abilities, capable of structuring ambiguous challenges.
• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of French and/or Dutch is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Experience in a regulated financial environment.
• Background in fintech or payment institutions.
• Knowledge of safeguarding regulations (PSD2/EMD), SWIFT, or FX settlement.
