Deputy Director of Systems Engineering - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Deputy Director of Systems Engineering to join our team at Northrop Grumman. This remote opportunity allows you to lead technical and business integration for the Sentinel Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) Business Unit. You will be at the forefront of one of the largest and most complex system engineering projects in history, impacting lives around the world.

What You'll Do

  • Lead a national SEIT team of over 1,000 members to deliver broad scope requirements and operational sustainment deliverables.
  • Drive accurate planning and execution to ensure predictable Profit & Loss across multiple SEIT Operating Units.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Engineer’s office to align SEIT plans with program technical priorities.
  • Prepare and present executive briefings to explain system-level plans and progress.
  • Negotiate handoffs with other teams and lead across organizations to assure timely and high-quality integrated deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 10 years of engineering experience or a Master’s with 8 years of experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance, investigation completed within the last 5 years.
  • Strong understanding of engineering systems and configuration management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with experience in high-value customer presentations.

Nice to Have

  • ICBM experience and demonstrated effectiveness in a federated engineering organization.
  • Prior experience interfacing with prime contractor site leads and USAF leadership personnel.
  • Strong sense of urgency and work ethic in ensuring engineering meets customer expectations.
