Data Scientist - Remote Position at Blue Orange Digital

About the Role

We're hiring a Data Scientist to join our team at Blue Orange Digital. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely while contributing to cutting-edge AI projects. As a Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in the development and deployment of our global AI products, particularly in consumer lending and business intelligence services.

What You'll Do

• Develop and prototype new modeling methodologies for our AI product suite.
• Collaborate with the ML engineering team to identify issues and guide them on requirements.
• Write data pipelines and ETL processes for unique modeling use cases.
• Create dashboards and reports to provide insights on model performance using our proprietary BI toolkit.
• Support client implementation teams with complex modeling tasks on our enterprise ML ops platform.
• Train ML models for various applications, including underwriting and targeting.
• Test new product features and algorithms, ensuring accurate implementation before live release.
• Implement bug fixes and upgrades to methodologies related to credit risk.

Requirements

• Proficient in SQL and data processing code, with Spark SQL experience preferred.
• Comfortable using Python and Jupyter notebooks with open-source ML libraries like MLlib, PyTorch, sklearn, and TensorFlow.
• Understanding of credit risk modeling fundamentals.
• Strong communication skills for both technical and business audiences.
• Experience in data visualization and a self-starter attitude.
• 3-5 years of experience in modeling or data engineering within a Credit Risk institution.
• 5-7 years of total industry experience in analytics, data science, or data engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with credit risk assessment tools such as FICO Model Builder and SAS.
• Understanding of the credit risk lifecycle from prospecting to collections.
