Cybersecurity Engineer II - Product Cyber Security (Remote)
About the Role
We are seeking a talented Cybersecurity Engineer II - Product Cyber Security (Remote) to join our team at Collins Aerospace. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the security of our enterprise environments, particularly focusing on the Department of Defense (DoD). As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, securing, and optimizing infrastructure to ensure operational resilience and regulatory compliance.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and implement technical solutions to ensure compliance with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) security requirements.
- Architect, deploy, and optimize enterprise network solutions, enhancing performance, scalability, and security across existing and new infrastructure.
- Configure, build, deploy, and maintain Windows and Linux operating system environments in accordance with security and operational best practices.
- Support the Government Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in RMF accreditation efforts, including documentation development and control implementation.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot firewalls, routers, and switches to ensure optimal network performance and security posture.
- Validate and verify hardware and software functionality through testing, diagnostics, and performance evaluation.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system configurations and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
- Experience with Linux or Windows operating systems, including Active Directory and VMware.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and risk management frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with network infrastructure and security controls.
Nice to Have
- Experience with DoD Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements.
- Knowledge of NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, and/or DoD/RMF.
- Experience with data storage technologies such as NAS and SAN.
- Familiarity with VMware vCenter, vSphere, and ESX.
- Scripting experience to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
