About the Role

We're hiring a Catering Manager to join our team at Sheraton Grand, offering a unique remote opportunity. As a Catering Manager, you will direct and motivate the catering services team while personally assisting in the physical setup of function rooms and executing events based on requirements and standards. This role is crucial in developing and directing the team to provide consistent, high-quality service. You'll communicate expected performance and train staff in processes, ensuring exceptional customer service and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and participate in catering services teams, demonstrating self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm.
  • Manage a culturally diverse work environment and utilize problem-solving methodologies for decision-making.
  • Interact with catering employees, customers, guests, vendors, and suppliers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Communicate group needs to various departments within the property effectively.
  • Manage the quality process in areas of customer service and employee satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; 2 years of experience in event management or a related professional area.
  • Alternatively, a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major with no work experience required.
  • Strong communication skills to convey details of catering events to operating departments and customers.
  • Experience in providing constructive coaching and counseling to employees.
  • Ability to motivate and create a productive work environment.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of various departments within the property.
  • Experience in managing group or interpersonal conflict situations effectively.
  • Previous experience in a remote work environment.
