About the Role

As a Building Engineer - Remote at CBRE, you will play a crucial role in monitoring, maintaining, and repairing building systems operations. This position involves ensuring the performance of various areas including plumbing, electrical systems, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling. You will be part of the Engineering and Technical Services team, responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
  • Ensure facility and building systems comply with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Maintain an energy management program to optimize system efficiency.
  • Assist in implementing a preventive maintenance program to extend the life of building machinery and systems.
  • Conduct emergency repairs as needed to ensure continuous operation.
  • Review inspections of building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure compliance with design capabilities.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Coach others and share your expertise in building engineering.

Requirements

  • Licensed Electrical Engineer (EE) or Mechanical Engineer (ME) with 2-3 years of relevant experience in Facilities Management.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Strong judgment skills based on analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Ability to perform complex calculations related to financial figures.
  • Willingness to adapt and take new perspectives on existing solutions.
  • Amenable to a 6-day shifting schedule.
