About the Role

BDO Ireland is seeking an ambitious Audit Manager to join our progressive and forward-thinking Audit Department. This Audit Manager remote position offers opportunities for progression, challenging projects, and continuous learning in a collaborative environment. As an Audit Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries, ensuring exceptional service delivery and client satisfaction.

What You'll Do

  • Manage a portfolio of clients of varying sizes across different industries.
  • Proactively manage client expectations and serve as the primary point of contact for clients.
  • Collaborate closely with Financial Controllers, Directors, and Senior Executives to manage audit-specific requirements.
  • Oversee the international reporting process to Group Auditors and from Component Auditors.
  • Coordinate and project manage the allocation of staff resources to audit jobs.
  • Lead teams in the planning, execution, and completion of audits.
  • Provide technical auditing and accounting assistance to team members and clients.
  • Report directly to senior management on engagements and assist in managing the team’s financial performance.
  • Participate in coaching, mentoring, and appraising staff.
  • Manage and coordinate pitches and proposals for new work.

Requirements

  • ACA or ACCA qualified with a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Strong technical auditing and accounting skills, including knowledge of ISAs and accounting standards FRS100 to FRS102 and IFRS.
  • Proven management skills and a strong market/commercial awareness.
  • Understanding of the operational aspects of managing an audit team and accountability for results.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong client service ethos.
  • Adaptability to change and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
