Summer Internship - Application Security Testing (Remote)

About the Role

We are excited to offer a Summer Internship in Application Security Testing at Neo4j. As a Summer Intern focusing on Application Security, you will have the opportunity to work on a Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) test bench for internal APIs and MCP solutions. This internship is a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in application security while working remotely.

What You'll Do

• Analyze Aura APIs and relevant MCP services to identify security vulnerabilities.
• Research and evaluate open source DAST tools for effective application security testing.
• Design and build a reusable DAST testing environment that supports repeatable testing.
• Run structured experiments against selected APIs to assess security measures.
• Document setup, results, and recommendations for future testing.

Requirements

• Strong interest in application security and a desire to learn.
• Solid coding skills, preferably in Python.
• Good understanding of REST APIs and their design.
• Experience setting up and using open source tools.
• Curiosity and structured thinking with the ability to document findings clearly.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with security testing methodologies.
• Previous internships or projects related to application security.
