About the Role

We are seeking an Assistant Finance Manager (Procurement) remote to join our dynamic team at Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU). Founded in 1989, HKMU is a pioneering institution dedicated to providing quality professional education and addressing industry needs. As an Assistant Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading our procurement team and ensuring efficient operations.

What You'll Do

  • Assist the Finance Manager in managing the procurement team and overseeing day-to-day operations.
  • Handle procurement projects independently and support tender boards in decision-making processes.
  • Oversee inventory stock and maintain accurate fixed asset records.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to develop category strategies and execute strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Streamline procurement operations and enhance systems for better management decisions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Requirements

  • A recognized degree in Purchasing, Supply Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience in procurement, tendering, and vendor management.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing procurement strategies and cost management initiatives.
  • Strong planning, problem-solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in English and Chinese (including Putonghua is preferred).
  • High proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and experience with Oracle Financials or inventory management systems.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in multinational or sizable organizations.
  • Knowledge of e-tendering and supplier sourcing.
