Apartment Manager - Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Apartment Manager to oversee the daily operations of a 76-unit Tax Credit Apartment Complex. This Apartment Manager remote position will allow you to manage leasing activities, maintain property occupancy, and ensure compliance with all HUD and Fair Housing regulations.

What You'll Do

• Manage the daily operations of the apartment complex, ensuring high occupancy rates and tenant satisfaction.
• Prepare and control the operating budget to meet financial objectives while managing expenses effectively.
• Collect rents and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring prompt deposits and compliance with financial regulations.
• File court evictions and represent the property at court hearings as necessary.
• Conduct regular marketing surveys to stay informed about competitors and market trends.
• Show and lease apartments, processing applications in a timely manner.
• Inspect the property regularly, scheduling necessary improvements and repairs.
• Supervise a maintenance staff of two, delegating tasks and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Collaborate with local Non-Profit Organizations to facilitate community activities.
• Manage emergency services and be available for 24-hour coverage as needed.

Requirements

• Property management and leasing experience preferred.
• Previous accounting experience is required.
• Supervisory experience is preferred.
• Understanding of affordable housing issues and programs is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Strong time management, planning, decision-making, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to understand contracts and documents typical in real estate management.

• Experience in community engagement and organizing events.
• Knowledge of local housing regulations and compliance.
