AI Deployment Engineer - Remote Opportunity with Relocation

About the Role

We are looking for an AI Deployment Engineer to join our team at OpenAI. This AI Deployment Engineer remote position offers the chance to work closely with frontier startups, ensuring that OpenAI’s technology is deployed safely and effectively. You will collaborate with engineering, research, and product teams to turn insights into evaluation systems and product improvements.

What You'll Do

• Work directly with strategic startup customers to understand critical workflows, uncover failure modes, and identify high-impact opportunities for improvement.
• Prototype and iterate on prompts, agents, and workflow designs to better understand system behavior and unlock customer value.
• Synthesize and deliver valuable feedback to the Product and Research teams, turning real usage patterns into clear, reproducible evaluations and benchmarks.
• Build repeatable tools, patterns, and evaluation approaches that raise the quality bar across multiple use cases.
• Create technical presentations, demos, and engage with top developers and startups around the region.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering & AI fundamentals, with experience as a software engineer, ML engineer, or Data Scientist.
• Experience shipping production systems end-to-end is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with model training pipelines and reinforcement learning.
• Experience building AI applications, agents, or evaluation systems.
• Ability to communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to Have

• Proficiency in multiple languages, with strong English required; Mandarin, Korean, or Japanese is a plus.
