About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and highly motivated Advanced Technology Engineer to join our Manufacturing Innovation team. This remote position focuses on transforming the future of manufacturing through the convergence of simulation and data. As an Advanced Technology Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and deploying production-grade machine learning models for industrial vision inspection systems across our client’s manufacturing lines.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement computer vision models for defect detection, segmentation, and classification.
  • Accelerate training cycles using synthetic data, active learning, and domain randomization.
  • Package models and services using Docker and manage deployments through Kubernetes.
  • Optimize inference for edge and embedded hardware, ensuring real-time latency requirements are met.
  • Integrate vision systems with PLCs, encoders, and industrial networks using protocols like OPC-UA and MQTT.
  • Lead data collection campaigns and establish quality gates for model validation.
  • Ensure uptime and availability targets are met through proactive monitoring and calibration.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external teams to integrate robust AI solutions into high-volume manufacturing environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial machine vision and edge AI deployment.
  • Proficiency in Python and C++ with strong knowledge of ML frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Experience integrating vision systems with industrial protocols (OPC-UA, MQTT).
  • Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to deliver production-ready AI solutions under strict timelines.
  • Willingness to travel to North American Manufacturing Centers, including Canada and Mexico.

Nice to Have

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or an advanced degree in related fields.
  • Experience in Robotics, including operation, teaching, maintenance, and safety.
  • Expertise in synthetic data generation techniques.
  • Familiarity with high-speed inline inspection systems and vision-based process control.
