About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Working Student in Consulting for Geographic Information Systems to join our innovative team at inno2grid. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to engage in impactful projects that shape sustainable mobility and energy solutions. As a Working Student, you will be fully integrated into our daily processes, contributing to various consulting projects focused on the coupling of energy and mobility sectors.
What You'll Do
- Conduct spatial analyses, including network analyses, accessibility studies, and site evaluations.
- Design and implement analytical approaches for real customer projects across our streams, such as mobility, energy, and heating.
- Develop, automate, and scale GIS workflows, particularly using Python.
- Process, integrate, and ensure the quality of complex geodata sets from various sources.
- Build and maintain geodatabases and structured data modeling.
- Create high-quality maps, visualizations, and interactive web maps to support decision-making processes.
- Assist in the development of GIS tools, prototypes, and data-driven applications.
- Conduct technical research and evaluate new data sources, methods, and tools in the GIS field.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geoinformatics, Geography, Environmental Informatics, or a related field; alternatively, a completed technical vocational training.
- Advanced knowledge of GIS software (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS Pro).
- Experience with Python in the GIS context (e.g., GeoPandas, Shapely, GDAL, PyQGIS, or ArcPy).
- Familiarity with spatial databases (e.g., PostGIS) and SQL.
- Understanding of coordinate systems, data models, and geodata standards.
- Ideally, experience with WebGIS (e.g., Leaflet, Mapbox, GeoServer).
- Excellent self-organization, communication, and teamwork skills.
- High engagement and reliability.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Word).
- Fluent in German and English.
Nice to Have
- Experience in project management.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools.
- Interest in sustainable energy and mobility solutions.
