Vehicle Coverage Engineer - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Coverage Engineer to join our team remotely. In this role, you will play a crucial part in evolving our telematics feature offerings by expanding the breadth and depth of telemetry data acquired across diverse vehicle architectures. As a Vehicle Coverage Engineer, you will leverage your expertise to enhance the safety and productivity of our clients’ operations.

What You’ll Do

• Research telematics data signals, proprietary OEM data, and infield logs to provide insights into vehicle network traffic.
• Analyze wiring diagrams, body builder guides, and other documentation for vehicle connections.
• Utilize tools and scripts to extract necessary data from vehicles.
• Travel to customer locations to interface with various vehicles and gather critical data.
• Work collaboratively with international, cross-functional teams to develop new features based on vehicle data.

Requirements

• 4+ years of vehicle automotive experience analyzing vehicle network traffic.
• BS or higher in electrical, software, or automotive-related engineering.
• Hands-on experience interfacing with vehicles and coding in C/C++/Python or equivalent.
• Ability to use physical debug tools like multimeters, oscilloscopes, and scan tools.
• Familiarity with reverse engineering tools and hardware (e.g., Vehicle Spy, PCAN, SavvyCAN) is a plus.
• Working understanding of automotive standards including SAE J1979, J1939, ISO15765, WWH-OBDII, OBDII, UDS, J1708, J1587.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI and data analysis in automotive applications.
• Knowledge of telematics systems and their implementation.
