University Assistant PraeDoc - Bioinorganic Chemistry (Remote)
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated University Assistant PraeDoc to join our team at the University of Vienna. This exciting opportunity allows you to engage in cutting-edge research in bioinorganic chemistry and chemical biology while working in a collaborative and inspiring scientific environment. As a University Assistant PraeDoc, you will have the chance to contribute to innovative projects aimed at elucidating the role of transition metals in cancer growth.
What You'll Do
- Participate in original research projects focused on tumor-inhibiting compounds and therapy resistance mechanisms.
- Characterize bioactivities using cell and molecular biology methods, including flow cytometry and microscopy.
- Collaborate with experts in synthetic chemistry to design potential cancer therapeutics.
- Prepare internal reports, publications, and presentations for national and international conferences.
- Teach courses independently and instruct bachelor and master students.
- Engage in administrative tasks related to teaching and research.
Requirements
- Master's degree in molecular biology, biological chemistry, biochemistry, chemistry, or a related field.
- Experience in mammalian cell culture techniques and characterization of compound bioactivity.
- Basic knowledge of research methods and academic writing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; basic knowledge of German is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in academic teaching, including e-learning, is desirable.
Nice to Have
- Experience with flow cytometry and imaging-based methods.
- Strong attention to detail.
