What You'll Do
- Diagnose and resolve routine and complex IT issues while providing technical assistance to end-users through effective communication.
- Document and maintain a historical record of installations and troubleshooting processes.
- Support the deployment of PC equipment and accessories, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
- Collaborate with engineers and remote software experts to maintain and update custom software solutions.
- Conduct troubleshooting for end-user PC and test equipment connectivity issues.
- Create and manage local user accounts across various Windows operating systems.
- Think critically to resolve unique and unprecedented technical challenges.
- Participate in after-hours support as needed to address critical issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field preferred; or a High School Diploma/GED with 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an IT role supporting end users with PC-based technical applications.
- Familiarity with NI LabView and/or dSpace ControlDesk products is a plus.
- CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ certifications are preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and understanding of various Windows operating systems.
- Knowledge of LAN and VLAN concepts, static IP assignments, and basic network troubleshooting.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment while taking ownership of technical issues.
- Current and Active DoD Secret Clearance (or higher) is strongly preferred.
Nice to Have
- Experience with backup/image software such as Ghost or Acronis.
- Understanding of IP KVM switches and UPS diagnostics.
- Familiarity with legacy standards like PCI & ISA for expansion cards.
