Test Engineer (GNC) - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

Join us as a Test Engineer (GNC) remote at E-Space, where we are bridging Earth and space to enable hyper-scaled deployments of space-powered Internet of Things (IoT) solutions. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that our innovative satellite systems meet performance requirements through rigorous testing and validation.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, and commission test benches and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for GNC hardware validation.
  • Review, inspect, and functionally test incoming electronic boards and assemblies, verifying board bring-up and debugging anomalies using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers.
  • Develop test software for GNC components, including automated test scripts and data acquisition tools.
  • Execute formal test procedures for component-level and subsystem-level validation.
  • Process, analyze, and document test results to support performance model updates and design reviews.
  • Participate in AIT campaigns, ensuring continuity from component validation through production.

Requirements

  • BS +5 years or MS +3 years in Electronics, Mechatronics, Aerospace, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in hardware testing or validation in a space or aerospace environment.
  • Proficiency with Altium for test board and adapter development.
  • Strong hands-on experience with lab instruments: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.
  • Ability to read and interpret PCB schematics and debug board-level issues.
  • Proficiency in Python, Unix/Linux/Bash, and git-based workflows.
  • Experience with sensitive electronics and clean room practices.
  • Organized and proactive problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of GNC sensors and associated test methods.
  • Experience with spacecraft AIT and environmental testing.
  • Familiarity with spacecraft communication interfaces: SPI, I²C, UART, CAN.
