About the Role

We are seeking a Technical Design & Delivery Lead for our Water Infrastructure projects, with a focus on the Waikato region. This remote role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on local water solutions while leveraging AECOM's global expertise. You will be a key player in leading technical delivery and ensuring project excellence across critical water infrastructure initiatives.

What You'll Do

  • Provide technical leadership and delivery assurance for three water infrastructure projects, including water supply, wastewater, and stormwater systems.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local government and regional council clients, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Collaborate with global technical teams to apply innovative water solutions tailored to local needs.
  • Support project delivery excellence through technical verification, design governance, and risk management.
  • Mentor and develop local team members, fostering a culture of technical learning and growth.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in planning, design, and delivery of water infrastructure projects, preferably in New Zealand.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) designation or equivalent international accreditation.
  • Strong client relationship management skills with established networks in the Waikato region.
  • In-depth knowledge of NZ water and infrastructure standards, particularly local requirements.
  • Proven ability to solve complex technical challenges and deliver on critical project requirements.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with emerging water service entities and local water market dynamics.
  • Familiarity with advanced water treatment technologies and sustainable practices.
