Tech Lead - Full Stack & Database Expert (Remote)

We are seeking a skilled Tech Lead to join our team at Deel, a leading all-in-one payroll and HR platform for global teams. As a Tech Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of work by driving technical excellence and innovation. What You'll Do

• Identify and prioritize high-impact technical and product problems.
• Design and guide scalable backend and data systems.
• Own architectural decisions across data, services, and system boundaries.
• Ensure systems are efficient, reliable, and scalable under real-world conditions.
• Lead execution through others, driving outcomes beyond individual contributions.
• Partner with Product teams to ensure technical work aligns with business objectives.

Requirements

• Deep database expertise, particularly in relational databases (SQL).
• Strong knowledge of query optimization, indexing strategies, transactions, and concurrency control.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and system design.
• Proficiency in backend foundations, including APIs, services, and system architecture.
• Familiarity with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience with frontend technologies like React.
• Understanding of performance implications and integration points.
• Ability to make pragmatic decisions aligned with business impact.
