About the Role

We are seeking a Talent Management Systems Designer to join our dynamic team at OpenAI. This remote role is pivotal in shaping how we manage and develop talent within our organization. You will play a crucial role in designing systems that enhance our talent review processes and succession planning, ensuring that our talent management aligns with our mission of benefiting humanity through artificial intelligence.

What You'll Do

  • Own and evolve OpenAI’s talent review approach, designing a practical, lightweight model that leaders and HRBPs can use effectively.
  • Drive differentiation and talent decision quality by building clear frameworks for identifying top talent and supporting consistent decision-making.
  • Develop scalable approaches for assessing bench strength and succession readiness across critical roles.
  • Partner with leaders to define and maintain frameworks for critical roles and succession priorities.
  • Translate talent philosophy into concrete mechanisms, including templates and decision trees that improve execution.
  • Run targeted pilots to gather feedback and continuously refine talent processes for better clarity and impact.
  • Collaborate with HRBPs and People leaders to balance company-wide consistency with local flexibility.
  • Ensure talent decisions are connected to performance signals, partnering with Compensation and People Analytics.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in talent management, human resources, or related fields, ideally in a fast-growing company.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing talent systems, including talent reviews and succession planning.
  • Strong understanding of talent management best practices and trends.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels.
  • Attention to detail, capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and talent management systems.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in AI or technology sectors.
  • Familiarity with performance management systems.
  • Knowledge of data analytics in HR.
