Systems Administrator (Windows/Linux) - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking a talented Systems Administrator (Windows/Linux) remote to join Northrop Grumman, a leader in defense technology. What You'll Do
- Serve as a Windows and VMware System Administrator for classified government contracts.
- Manage Linux and Redhat systems, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Coordinate with network, software, and system engineers to resolve issues and enhance system performance.
- Analyze customer requirements and determine equipment and software needs for automated solutions.
- Implement system enhancements, including installation, upgrades, monitoring, and configuration management.
- Provide backup and recovery services, manage file systems, and ensure virus protection.
- Create and maintain user accounts, modify file permissions, and manage security access lists.
- Document technical processes and procedures as needed, ensuring compliance with security guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience or a Master’s degree for Level 2; Bachelor’s with 5 years or Master’s with 3 years for Level 3.
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Experience managing Windows Server OS and domain architecture.
- Current CompTIA Security + CE certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds and work after hours as needed.
Nice to Have
- Experience with NISPOM Chapter 8, RMF, STIG, or similar environments.
- Familiarity with Cisco networking and certifications.
- Knowledge of SAN storage systems and Linux Operating Systems.
