About the Role
Join Barclays as a Sustainability and Regulatory Policy Lawyer VP in a remote capacity, where you will ensure that operations comply with applicable laws and regulations while managing legal and reputational risks. What You'll Do
- Develop and implement best practice legal strategies for risk management and compliance.
- Provide legal advice and support to the bank's country coverage teams on regulatory compliance, risk management, and transactional matters.
- Represent the bank in legal proceedings, including litigation, arbitration, and regulatory investigations.
- Create and review legal documents to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to stay updated on changes in laws impacting operations.
- Develop and deliver training programs on legal and regulatory requirements.
- Proactively identify and communicate legal advice on applicable laws and regulations.
- Advise key stakeholders on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
Requirements
- Significant legal experience as an Advisory Lawyer, preferably in-house or in a challenging private practice environment.
- Subject matter expertise or a strong interest in the Sustainability agenda.
- Ability to advise on new and evolving technical areas of law.
- Proven track record of taking ownership of complex matters and providing clear, pragmatic legal advice.
- Strong skills in risk and controls, change management, and strategic thinking.
