Studio QA Director - Remote Leadership Role in Game Development

About the Role

We are seeking a visionary Studio QA Director to join Escape Velocity Entertainment in a fully remote capacity. As a leader in our QA department, you will steer the quality strategy for our ambitious competitive, real-time multiplayer titles. This Studio QA Director remote role will allow you to oversee and elevate the quality standards across our projects, ensuring flawless live service operations across PC, console, and mobile platforms.

What You'll Do

• Champion and optimize the long-term strategic vision for the QA discipline across Escape Velocity, building upon our established testing processes for our products.
• Refine and scale studio-wide quality KPIs, release management protocols, and testing frameworks tailored for a continuous, cross-platform live service environment.
• Oversee the QA budget, resource allocation, and high-level vendor strategies, acting as the ultimate decision-maker for external test partnerships.
• Direct, mentor, and manage the Associate QA Director, helping them grow as a leader and empowering them to lead their team in milestone-driven test execution.
• Collaborate closely with the VP of Product Development and other Studio Directors to integrate advanced QA strategies into Agile development methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead the QA organization's exploration and adoption of AI in our testing strategy, implementing advanced testing methodologies like automation and data-driven QA practices.

Requirements

• Exceptional communication skills, capable of advocating for quality at the executive level while fostering a collaborative environment.
• Extensive senior-level leadership experience in game development QA, with a proven track record of shipping large-scale, cross-platform live service games.
• Deep expertise in managing and mentoring senior QA staff and overseeing large, distributed internal and external testing teams.
• Comprehensive understanding of live service release management, including testing client features alongside backend services.
• Expert-level knowledge of modern QA tools and environments, including JIRA, UE4/UE5, and Agile Development methodologies.

• Experience with AI-driven testing methodologies.
