Staff Product Designer - AI-First Focus

About the Role

We’re hiring a Staff Product Designer to join our innovative team at Birdie, where we’re reimagining care for older adults. This Staff Product Designer remote role is pivotal as we evolve our platform to be AI-first, building intelligent systems that assist decision-making and automate coordination work. What You'll Do

• Lead design initiatives within the Care Management squad, focusing on complex problem spaces.
• Own design for parts of the care management domain while contributing to the broader AI-first direction across the platform.
• Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to frame problems and shape solutions.
• Raise the design bar across Birdie through mentorship and critique.
• Define Birdie’s AI design direction and ensure it actively shapes our product.
• Drive meaningful improvements in Care Management and enhance the overall design practice.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience designing digital products, particularly in complex problem spaces.
• Strong track record as a senior individual contributor.
• Experience in startup or scale-up environments, adapting to fast-paced changes.
• High craft bar across both UX and UI, with a focus on clarity and usability.
• Ability to communicate design rationale clearly and align stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience at a Series C or earlier SaaS startup.
• Background in healthtech or operational tooling.
• Hands-on experience designing AI-enabled workflows.
