About the Role

We are seeking a Staff Cyber Systems Engineer Lead to join our innovative team at Northrop Grumman. This remote position offers you the chance to work on revolutionary systems that impact lives globally. As a leader in cybersecurity, you will play a crucial role in defining and validating the security posture of our Digital Ecosystem (DE).

What You'll Do

  • Build and lead a multidisciplinary team of software security analysts, platform engineers, and cyber operations specialists.
  • Design a resilient security architecture for mission-engineering applications, ensuring compliance with NIST and DoD standards.
  • Drive the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process, producing essential security documentation.
  • Integrate security measures into the software lifecycle, embedding secure coding standards and automated scanning into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Mentor junior engineers and conduct workshops on threat modeling and secure development practices.
  • Oversee supply chain integrity and lead incident response efforts, coordinating with cyber operations to manage breaches.
  • Collaborate with product owners, data scientists, and systems engineers to align security requirements with mission objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 12 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s Degree with 10 years, or a PhD with 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Must possess an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.
  • A minimum of 5 years in system security engineering and security architecture for software-intensive platforms.
  • Experience with secure coding, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies.
  • Proficient in hardening cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.

Nice to Have

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Experience with cyber test automation tools and DevSecOps pipelines.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML model governance.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, ISSAP, or OSCP.
