Software Quality Engineer - Remote Position

About the Role

Vistage is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Software Quality Engineer remote to join our remote QA team. This role is designed for a dedicated individual contributor who excels in identifying complex defects through meticulous manual and exploratory testing. The successful candidate will work directly within our core technology stack, which includes the Salesforce platform, WordPress, and various proprietary applications.

Your primary responsibilities will include designing comprehensive test documentation, executing rigorous test plans, and collaborating closely with remote development teams to ensure our software products are reliable, scalable, and provide exceptional value to our global membership. What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and use cases covering functional, regression, and integration requirements.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and developers to understand user stories, technical designs, and ensure test coverage aligns with business objectives.
• Maintain up-to-date test documentation and quality assurance procedures to reflect current software features and updates.
• Execute manual, exploratory, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT) across multiple applications within an Agile environment.
• Test integrations between systems such as Salesforce, WordPress, and proprietary tools to identify cross-platform issues.
• Log, track, and manage defects meticulously using JIRA/Xray, providing clear reproduction steps and environment details.
• Verify bug fixes and new deployments, ensuring quality standards are met without regressions.
• Perform cross-browser and cross-device testing to ensure a consistent user experience across platforms.
• Conduct basic data validation through SQL queries to verify data integrity in backend systems.
• Communicate testing progress, risks, and issues proactively with remote teams and stakeholders across different time zones.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience as a Software Quality Engineer or in a similar role.
• Deep expertise in manual testing, including exploratory, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Proficiency with QA tools such as JIRA and test management solutions like Xray or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience testing Salesforce applications, including customizations and data integrity validation.
• Strong understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, and browser debugging tools (DevTools).
• Ability to write and execute basic SQL queries for backend data validation.
• Proven track record working effectively in a remote environment, managing workload independently.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with distributed teams and stakeholders.
