Software Product Owner - Remote Opportunity at Northrop Grumman

About the Role

Join Northrop Grumman as a Software Product Owner in a remote capacity, where you will have the opportunity to lead innovative software projects that impact lives globally. This role is pivotal in defining the product vision and managing the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business objectives. You will collaborate with a scrum team of approximately 8 software engineers, driving the development of high-quality software solutions.

What You'll Do

• Define and manage the product backlog, crafting user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria.
• Lead a scrum team, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of code quality and continuous learning.
• Utilize Agile methodologies and the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira and Confluence, to facilitate project management.
• Drive sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and reviews while maintaining alignment with product vision and mission goals.
• Incorporate user feedback to refine the product roadmap and enhance service offerings.
• Design and implement scalable software solutions on Linux/Unix platforms using technologies such as TypeScript, Angular, Node.js, React, or Vue.
• Conduct demos and briefings for customers and senior leadership, translating feedback into actionable enhancements.
• Ensure seamless integration of capabilities with satellite ground software solutions.

Requirements

• 5 years of software development experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years with a Master's degree; or 1 year with a PhD; additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Proven experience as a Software Engineer building front-end applications with at least two of the following technologies: TypeScript, Angular, Node.js, React, or Vue.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Strong ability to define and articulate a clear product vision and goals for Agile teams.
• Demonstrated success in prioritizing and managing a product backlog.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Top Secret clearance and SCI access.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Previous experience developing Command and Control software for Satellite Ground Systems.
