Software Engineer, DevOps - Starlink Remote

Join SpaceX as a Software Engineer specializing in DevOps for Starlink, where you will help build the next era of the Internet. This Software Engineer, DevOps remote position is crucial for developing the infrastructure that enables high-speed broadband access worldwide. You will collaborate with other engineers to innovate rapidly and reliably, ensuring the success of Starlink's mission.

What You'll Do

• Invent tools and processes that enable fast, accurate, and easy-to-use development and deployment systems.
• Provide fast and comprehensive software validation, including virtualized and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Engage in monitoring and data analysis to support a continuous integration and release system.
• Perform hands-on integration and troubleshooting across the entire Starlink stack.
• Create and manage core infrastructure such as databases and software libraries.
• Identify areas for improvement and develop innovative solutions that enhance developer velocity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a STEM discipline and 1+ years of software development experience, or 3+ years of professional experience in software development.
• Development experience in Python, Go, or C++.
• Experience in DevOps, site reliability engineering, or systems administration.
• Strong understanding of testing, continuous integration, and deployment processes.
• Proficiency with relevant technologies such as Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and GitOps.
• Excellent debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing skills.
• Ability to manage large-scale systems and develop software for real-world applications.
• Exceptional analytical skills and a creative approach to problem-solving.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Bazel or other build systems.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs.
