Software Engineer - AI & Frontend Focus
About the Role
We're hiring a Software Engineer remote to join our innovative team at TaxNow. In this role, you'll build the data infrastructure layer for the entire tax industry, creating a direct, real-time connection between taxpayers, their advisors, and the IRS. What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and maintain high-quality software solutions that align with our product vision and business goals.
- Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and external partners to continuously improve our application.
- Experiment with AI-driven features and explore emerging patterns in software development.
- Design and develop robust, scalable frontend architectures while also having opportunities for backend development.
- Own features end-to-end from requirements analysis through deployment.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
- Automate workflows using appropriate tools and scripting.
- Review, debug, and optimize existing codebases.
- Perform validation and verification testing to ensure quality and reliability.
- Document development phases and monitor system performance.
Requirements
- 2+ years' experience as a Software Engineer remote.
- Strong background in software development, scripting, and project execution.
- Proficiency in one or more object-oriented programming languages such as Python or TypeScript.
- Experience with React (required) and familiarity with Next.js (preferred).
- General understanding of RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with OAuth and SSO (strongly preferred but not required).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
