Site Reliability Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Site Reliability Engineer to join our innovative team. This remote Site Reliability Engineer position focuses on innovation, prototyping, and platform validation. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that prototypes not only function effectively but are also scalable and deployable.

What You'll Do

• Take technical responsibility for prototyping environments, utilizing tools such as Kubernetes, GitOps, and Terraform/Pulumi.
• Automate the provisioning and controlled teardown of test and demo infrastructures.
• Operate stable demo environments for internal and external stakeholders.
• Validate deployability under various conditions, including cloud and on-premises setups.
• Identify technical constraints early in the development phases.
• Establish lean monitoring and logging setups using Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
• Create deployment specifications, Helm charts, and runbooks.
• Collaborate closely with innovation, platform, and product teams to balance speed and standardization.

Requirements

• 4-8+ years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps, or Platform Engineer.
• Strong expertise in Kubernetes and GitOps (Argo CD, Flux, Helm, Kustomize).
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or Pulumi.
• Proficient in observability stacks and scripting languages (Python, Go, or Bash).
• Familiarity with cloud and on-premises environments, ideally with air-gapped setups.

Nice to Have

• Experience in prototyping, R&D, or innovation environments.
• Knowledge of security and compliance topics (e.g., ISO 27001, BSI C5).
• Experience with supply chain security or service mesh.
• Basic knowledge of German (minimum B1).
