About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Vessel Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic team in a remote capacity. As a Senior Vessel Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for refreshing and upgrading IT infrastructure on vessels, ensuring that our client's fleet operates with the latest technology.
What You'll Do
- Lead the modernization of vessel infrastructure, including hardware installation and deployment.
- Oversee vendor selection and product evaluation processes for maritime IT solutions.
- Utilize your hands-on expertise with Cisco UCS/HX, Nutanix HCI, and VMware vSphere.
- Administer Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments effectively.
- Implement automation using Terraform, Ansible, and Puppet to streamline operations.
- Manage networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, and DHCP.
- Develop scripts using Bash, PowerShell, or Python to enhance system functionality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or maritime IT operations.
- Proven track record of leading complex projects independently.
- Strong understanding of power, cooling, and physical security in maritime environments.
- Experience building shipboard server rooms or port-based data centers.
- Familiarity with ITIL, SolarWinds, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Certifications such as VCP, RHCE, Nutanix NCP, CCNP, or AWS/Azure Associate are a plus.
- Open to relocation for full-time conversion after the contract period.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Prior maritime, vessel, or port experience.
