About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Vessel Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic team in a remote capacity. As a Senior Vessel Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for refreshing and upgrading IT infrastructure on vessels, ensuring that our client's fleet operates with the latest technology.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the modernization of vessel infrastructure, including hardware installation and deployment.
  • Oversee vendor selection and product evaluation processes for maritime IT solutions.
  • Utilize your hands-on expertise with Cisco UCS/HX, Nutanix HCI, and VMware vSphere.
  • Administer Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments effectively.
  • Implement automation using Terraform, Ansible, and Puppet to streamline operations.
  • Manage networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Develop scripts using Bash, PowerShell, or Python to enhance system functionality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or maritime IT operations.
  • Proven track record of leading complex projects independently.
  • Strong understanding of power, cooling, and physical security in maritime environments.
  • Experience building shipboard server rooms or port-based data centers.
  • Familiarity with ITIL, SolarWinds, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Certifications such as VCP, RHCE, Nutanix NCP, CCNP, or AWS/Azure Associate are a plus.
  • Open to relocation for full-time conversion after the contract period.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Prior maritime, vessel, or port experience.
