Port Operative - Remote Opportunities

About the Role

We’re hiring a Port Operative to join our team at Associated British Ports, the UK's largest ports operator. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact in a business critical to UK trade while working in a dynamic and innovative environment. As a Port Operative, you will be responsible for utilizing your plant machinery experience to assist with the efficient loading and discharge of cargo from vessels. What You'll Do

• Participate in training to improve individual skills and efficiency of the company.
• Operate Plant and Equipment during vessel loading/discharging and cargo storage operations.
• Ensure compliance with Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work.
• Actively participate in Toolbox Talks and ensure targets are met.
• Perform cleaning of equipment and assist in various other port duties.

Requirements

• Full UK driving license and own transport.
• Ability to navigate IT equipment such as smartphones and handheld terminals.
• Experience operating Forklifts (up to 25T) and Skid Steers/Bobcats.
• Flexibility to move around the Humber and within terminals, adapting to various duties.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Nice to Have

• Previous experience in a port or logistics environment.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols.
• Ability to work night shifts if required.
