Senior Systems Engineer - Remote Opportunity with Relocation Support

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in a remote capacity, with relocation support available for those looking to make a move. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain scalable software systems and deployment pipelines within a defense-focused environment. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will focus on modern C++ development, automation, and ensuring reliable production systems.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain system-level frameworks and core libraries using modern C++ (C++17+).
• Design scalable architectures and collaborate on APIs and core components.
• Build and manage containerized environments using Docker and deployment automation.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines with automated testing to ensure software quality.
• Monitor, profile, and optimize system performance for high reliability.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in C++ (C++17+) and Python for scripting and automation.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, and GitHub Actions.
• Familiarity with Docker and configuration tools like Ansible.
• Linux-based development experience is essential.
• Understanding of distributed systems, networking, and performance tuning.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as Google Test and Catch2.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes or similar orchestration tools.
• Experience with embedded Linux, particularly Yocto.
• A background in high-performance or real-time systems is a plus.

Nice to Have

• PhD or Masters in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in system-level or framework development.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
