Senior Staff Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Staff Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure to join our team remotely. In this role, you will lead the lifecycle management of our Kubernetes compute platform, ensuring that our Cloud Infrastructure organization operates efficiently and effectively. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the engineering experience and drive significant enhancements across our cloud platform.

What You'll Do

• Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects related to cloud infrastructure.
• Coach and influence a distributed team of engineers to achieve project goals.
• Deliver enhancements that improve the cost efficiency of our cloud platform.
• Facilitate alignment across teams regarding goals, outcomes, and timelines.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables effectively.
• Contribute to the multi-year strategy for evolving our Cloud Platform.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance the compute platform.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of relevant work experience in infrastructure.
• 4+ years of expertise with a public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their infrastructure as a service offerings (e.g., EC2).
• Experience setting technical direction and successfully executing large projects across multiple teams.
• Kubernetes experience is required; Istio/Envoy experience is preferred.
• Passionate about efficiency, availability, quality, and developer experience.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud security best practices.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools.
• Knowledge of container orchestration and management.
