About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Staff Chief Engineer of the Stand-in Attack Weapon (SiAW) Program to join our team at Northrop Grumman. This role is pivotal in leading the technical authority for all aspects of engineering on the SiAW program. As a Senior Staff Chief Engineer, you will oversee a multi-disciplined team and ensure the technical performance of the program meets cost and schedule requirements. This position is based on-site in Northridge, CA, and involves a commitment to excellence in engineering practices.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the technical baseline and oversee technical activities across multiple contracts within the SiAW Program.
  • Maintain oversight of requirements development, hardware/software design, integration, and verification/validation activities.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to other engineers in systems engineering principles.
  • Chair technical meetings including requirements reviews, design reviews, and readiness reviews.
  • Support program reviews as an engineering authority and assist in resolving engineering challenges.
  • Drive process development and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance program efficiency.
  • Act as the technical liaison for the program manager to ensure successful execution of project budgets and schedules.
  • Interface with functional departments to secure team staffing and articulate project requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a STEM-related discipline with 14 years of experience, or 12 years with a master’s degree, or 10 years with a Ph.D.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership skills and the ability to make sound technical judgments.
  • Experience in system engineering processes and leading design, production, and integration of complex systems.
  • Background in aerospace systems, including aircraft and missile systems.
  • Must possess an active DoD Secret clearance.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in Air Launched Weapon/Missile Systems Development.
  • Knowledge of integration of missile seekers, sensors, and software.
  • Experience as a technical lead or in a leadership role within a program office.
